Land Rover's five-star Burghley Horse Trails competition will distribute a record amount of prize money this year. In their 60-year history, the organization has never had such a large prize pool.
It would amount to some £320,000, of which £100,000 will be distributed to the winner. The organization also plans to distribute prize money up to and including 20th place, depending on the number of starters.
Eventing director Martyn Johnson said of the announcement, "I am delighted that competitors in the 2022 event will be able to compete for the largest prize pool in the history of the event. Everyone at LRBHT understands the cost and time it takes to produce a five-star horse and the increased prize money reflects the board's commitment to ensuring Land Rover Burghley remains at the top of our sport."
The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trails will take place from Sept. 1 - Sept. 4, 2022.
