The second qualifying round for 5-year-old horses produced no fewer than 76 clear combinations! The best 30, based on the combined points from the first qualifier, will advance to Sunday’s final.
Belgium’s Bieke Cornette guided her KWPN gelding Phedelweis CJE (Carrera VDL) faultlessly through the 1.25m course with apparent ease. Norway’s Lone Marie Oeglend also delivered a fine round with the BWP mare Uphilas v’t Dauwhof (El Barone 111 Z). From Sweden, Cajsa Soberon showed that Date Night Z (Dominator 2000 Z), bred by Judy Ann Melchior herself, already demonstrates remarkable balance.
In addition, riders such as the Netherlands’ Noelle Klokman with Cartouche B van Speyhoeve Z and Ireland’s Niamh McEvoy with BP Wishes (Aganix du Seigneur) proved that their young horses also possess the right scope and quality. And this is just a small selection from a long list of riders who returned from the arena with zero penalties.
The top 30 combinations will return for Sunday’s final, with points from both qualifiers combined.
