Belgium’s top-ranked rider on the FEI ranking, Abdel Saïd, jumped to victory today in the CSI4* main class in Montefalco! Saïd delivered a convincing win aboard the 11-year-old Hanoverian mare Zasou Vom Claashof (Zinedine x Leika). He crossed the finish line more than a second faster than Stephan de Freitas Barcha, who had to settle for second place with a time of 68.27 seconds. The Brazilian rode Chevaux Nutreal Hex Lup Imperio Egipcio to this runner-up position. Just a few hundredths of a second behind, Billy Twomey and Julius (My Lord Carthago) finished in third with a time of 68.47 seconds.

Just off the podium was Britain’s Joseph Stockdale, who placed fourth riding Billy Santorini, a son of Billy Mexico. Thomas Ryan rounded out the top five aboard the 10-year-old Connoisseur PWR (Cornet Obolensky).

Paolo Paini and Davide Kainich claim victories on home soil!

In the 1.40m class, Paini rode to victory aboard Armaan (Mylord Carthago x Arikit). Mariano Ossa finished in second place with Elton van het Exelhof Z (by Baio), ahead of Maria Luca Montena and Cavallo Non Fise, who completed the podium.

One class later, Kainich jumped to victory with the nine-year-old mare Gaelle de Gree (Kannan x Uniblue de Gree la). Fellow Italian rider Massimo Grossato followed in second place aboard My Fair Lady M (My Lord Carthender Dei Folletti), ahead of Britain’s James Smith and the Zangersheide gelding Dominican 200 Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Alexia).
