After two successful years, the partnership between German show jumper Daniel Deusser and the 15-year-old gelding Gangster v/h Noddevelt (by Eldorado vd Zeshoek) has come to an end. The paths of this top duo are diverging ahead of schedule as the owner, Vladimir Tretera, has taken back the reins himself.

For the past two years, Deusser and Gangster were a formidable force at the highest level of the sport. Their record is nothing short of impressive: They played a vital role in the German victory at the 2024 Nations Cup in Calgary. A year later, they produced a double clear there, helping the team secure second place. The duo also claimed victories in the Grand Prix of Mexico City and Leipzig.
No Agreement on the Future
The reason for the split stems from a business disagreement regarding the long-term plan. Daniel Deusser explained the situation to spring-reiter.de: "Vladimir Tretera has always remained the owner of Gangster. We had a contract stating that I would ride him until the end of 2025. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach an agreement for the period following that."
Back to Basics
Vladimir Tretera has since returned to the saddle of his own horse, and the reunion is already proving successful. This past Sunday, the pair immediately won a national 1.45m Grand Prix in the Czech Republic.
Despite the end of the professional partnership, Tretera looks back with gratitude: "I am very grateful to Daniel for the way he produced Gangster and how well they represented Germany together in the Nations Cups."
