Together with the Danish-bred mare Zero K ((Kannan GFE), there was no stopping the Irish top rider, Darragh Kenny. On Thursday, the pair raced to victory in the 1.55m WEF Challenge Cup. For Kenny and this mare their first international victory as a pair!
Darragh Kenny and the 11-year-old daughter of Kannan GFE, Zero K, finished clear in 34.86 seconds—more than a second faster than Daniel Bluman and his trusted Gemma W.
Six combinations remained faultless in this round. "Zero K is a fantastic horse, and she gives it her all!" Kenny shared afterward on his social media. As one of the last to start, Daniel Bluman made an attempt but ultimately secured second place. Together with his KWPN horse, Gemma W (Luidam), he stayed ahead of Spencer Smith with Keeneland (Carmena Z).
French rider Nina Mallevaey just missed out on the top three, finishing fourth with Dynastie de Beaufour (Diamant de Semilly). In front of a home crowd, Alise Oken completed the top five aboard Gelvera (Quality Time), bred by Mts. Sultiens.
