The second qualifier for seven-year-old horses at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship in Lanaken was contested over a 1.40m course against the clock. Ireland’s David Simpson claimed victory with Ocean, producing a faultless round in 68.17 seconds.
David Simpson and the seven-year-old KWPN gelding Ocean, by Zambesi TN out of a Clinton mare, delivered the fastest clear round of the competition in 68.17 seconds. Willem Greve secured second place for the Netherlands with Tattoo TN (Parfait van het Schaeck), crossing the finish line clear in 68.79 seconds.
Hendrik-Jan Schuttert completed the Dutch presence on the podium, finishing third aboard Irisch Mist Z (Highlander vd Kalevallei) in 69.33 seconds.
Belgium’s Thibault Philippaerts took fourth with Tourmalet L3b (Diamant de Semilly), a seven-year-old BWP stallion. The combination finished clear in 69.38 seconds. Angela Thompson and Dawn Lancer (Dollar du Rouet) completed the top five with another clear round in 69.43 seconds.
