The 1.60m Saut Hermès Grand Prix proved to be a challenging competition. After a jump-off with nine riders, Simon Delestre continued his strong form. Last week, the Frenchman won the Rolex Grand Prix in 's-Hertogenbosch. Today, he claimed victory in the 1.60m Hermès Grand Prix with Cayman Jolly Jumper. Delestre is as such the first French rider in history to claim the Hermès Grand Prix for a third time!
Simon Delestre and the 13-year-old SF gelding, Cayman Jolly Jumper, brought great excitement to the audience. The duo secured the home win with a narrow lead. Following closely, about half a second behind, was Robert Whitaker riding Vermento (Argento).
Austrian rider Max Kühner secured an international top-three finish. Riding EIC Julius Caesar (Couleur Rubin), he placed ahead of Christian Ahlmann on Untouched LB (United Touch S).
The top five of this CSI5* Grand Prix was completed by Alexa Ferrer and the 10-year-old SF mare, Vitalhorse Fleur d'Oz (Olimbos Merze). Last to start, Gregory Wathelet finished in sixth place. Wathelet and Ace Of Hearts (Aliandro B) ended with one jumping fault, securing sixth place.
