Japanese rider Eiken Sato has been forced to withdraw from the final day of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final in Fort Worth, Texas. Sato, who was sitting in an impressive fourth place overall with seven points, was prepared to contest Sunday’s two decisive rounds aboard the 15-year-old gelding Chadellano JRA (Chacco-Blue x Centadel).
According to Sato, Chadellano seemed unwell yesterday after passing the second horse inspection. "My horse was showing mild signs of colic. Because we wanted to be sure he went to the clinic for evaluation. Health comes first, at the moment my horse looks ok, but we don't want to take any risk."
Earleir also Hungary's Peter Szuhai whitdrew his horse Corbluecenta (Balou du Reventon x Chacco-Blue), leaving 28 riders at the start today.
