Gilles Thomas has announced via Stal Nieuwenhof that he is forced to withdraw his top stallion, Ermitage Kalone (Catoki), from competing in the FEI Jumping World Championships in Aachen. The combination was on the Belgian longlist. "The disappointment is enormous."
"After the Riesenbeck Grand Prix, Ermitage sustained an injury. Following further examination, it has become clear that it is not responsible to have him start at the championship. His health and well-being always come first, no matter how difficult that decision may be."
"The disappointment is enormous. We had made this championship a major goal, and the form we showed in recent weeks in La Baule and Riesenbeck gave us a lot of confidence and motivation heading into Aachen," Thomas writes.
