"A few weeks ago we lost 'Fia' to colic," an emotional Landeblad shared on her social media. "I still can't wrap my head around the fact that you are no longer here, and I miss your beautiful face every single day. I am so deeply sorry I couldn't give you the retirement you deserved. I would have done anything to save you and give you more time. Rest in peace, my queen. You are the best thing that ever happened to me."

Farewell after injury in La Baule

The mare, bred by D. Dunne, was only officially retired this past June. That decision was made after the daughter of Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve sustained an injury during the CSIO5* Nations Cup in La Baule, France.

In recent years, Landeblad and For Killy were a mainstay for the Swedish team at the highest level. They competed at the 2025 European Championships in A Coruña and represented Sweden on numerous occasions in Nations Cups and international Grand Prix events. Furthermore, the successful pair was among the twelve duos selected for the Swedish longlist for the 2026 World Championships in Aachen.

The Equnews team extends its deepest condolences to everyone associated with the mare.
