In Valkenswaard, the weekend is quietly coming to an end. Later today the CSI4* riders will take to the arena one last time but they have already finished their ultimate final, the Grand Prix. Thirteen combinations were able to advance to the jump-off and in that jump-off they rode hard. The victory came in Dutch hands: Gerben Morsink and Navarone Z (by Nabab de Reve) came into the ring as one of the last combinations and managed to beat the time of Nicola Philippaerts, who had been in the lead until then, not even slightly. The duo jumped a clear jump-off in 35.48 seconds which gave them victory.
Due to Morsink's strong performance, Philippaerts had to make peace with second place. His 11-year-old Derby de Riverland (by Kannan) was nowhere near the wood and clocked off in 36.21 seconds. Third place also fell to a Dutchman: Henk van de Pol rode B Captain Norman (by Bolero) clear in 37.53 seconds, which earned him the third spot.
Lorenzo de Luca in turn took home fourth place. He sent Don Vito (by Quaprice Bois Margot) clear through the jump-off and finished in 37.58 seconds. Eduardo Pereira de Menezes and Hot N Spicy (by Zento) jumped to fifth place in 37.56 seconds.
