Otto Becker and his team took strong revenge in the second round. For Germany, only Richard Vogel with the 12-year-old United Touch S (Untouched) managed a double clear round. André Thieme and his 14-year-old DSP Chakaria (Askari) finished with a total of one jumping fault.

Also, the Olympic champion duo, Christian Kukuk with Checker 47 (Comme Il Faut) recorded a clear first round. In the second round, two rails fell. The team was further completed by Jana Wargers with Dorette OLD (Dollar du Murier).

With twelve points, Germany stayed just one jumping fault ahead of the Dutch team. Maikel van der Vleuten and the 14-year-old Beauville Z N.O.P. (Bustique) were the strong performers with a double clear round. Kim Emmen and her Olympic trump card, Imagine (Cassini Gold) finished with a clear round and 12 points in the second round.

Furthermore, Harrie Smolders with Uricas v/d Kattevennen (Uriko) and Lars Kersten with Funky Fred Marienshof Z (Fantomas de Muze) started for the Dutch team. The bronze medal went to Sweden.

For Sweden, Henrik von Eckermann with King Edward (Edward) proved to be the strongest with one clear round. After the competition Maikel van der Vleuten, Daniel Coyle and Henrik von Eckermann were awarded as 'best athlete'!
