On Thursday, the 1.50m main class was held against the clock in Vejer de la Frontera. After the 1.50m CSI4* main event, the Belgian national anthem played. Reigning Belgian champion Gilles Thomas raced to victory with Lars Kersten's former horse, Chuck Marienshof Z (breeder/owner: Stal Marienshof).
Gilles Thomas and the 10-year-old Zangersheide stallion by Colestus narrowly beat Kendra Claricia Brinkop and the 13-year-old BWP mare, Ma Belle (Ugano Sitte, breeder: Gust Brosens). In third place was Graham Gillespie riding the 17-year-old Veneno (Chacco-Blue).
Just outside the top three, Riccardo Pisani finished in fourth place. Pisani and the 10-year-old Chacco's Lawito PS (Chacco-Blue) stayed ahead of Vincent Zacharias Bourguignon with Prince of Bel Air van Euverbraeke (Lavallino Ter Klomp).
