It's the countdown to the 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix this afternoon. In 's-Hertogenbosch, the Belgian national anthem played this morning after the 1.50m Borek Prize. In this CSI5* competition with a winning round, reigning Belgian champion Gilles Thomas kept his compatriot Annelies Vorsselmans from victory.
Gilles Thomas jumped to victory with his 9-year-old Lavanoche T&L Z (Lavallino Ter Klomp). The duo raced to victory in 35.09 seconds, narrowly beating Annelies Vorsselmans and the 12-year-old Trezeguet (Turmalin 1202). On Saturday, Lillie Keenan won the 1.40m indoor Derby with Opium JW van de Moerhoeve TN. Today, the American rider jumped to third place with her 11-year-old Kannan son.
The duo pushed Mel Thijssen to fourth place. Competing in front of her home crowd, Thijssen followed with the 11-year-old Juice (Tyson), ahead of Pieter Devos and his own 9-year-old Lente (Grandorado TN).
