Qiara de Kalvarie began her training as a young horse under Lars Demeersman. Since early 2024, she has represented Stal Nieuwenhof. Initially, Marthe Heudens competed with the mare up to the 1.45m level, before Gilles Thomas took over the reins early last year. That proved to be a resounding success. The duo built an impressive track record in a short period of time. The highlight came in Lanaken, where they were crowned Belgian vice-champions. They also made their mark at the highest five-star level: last year, they took a commendable third place at the Global Champions Tour in Paris (1.55m) and a second-place finish over 1.50m in Mechelen. This year, they underlined their form with a second place in the Global Champions Tour of Miami (1.55m). Qiara de Kalvarie is not only a striking performer in the arena, but she also boasts top-tier genetics. As a daughter of Sea Coast Don't Touch Tiji Hero, she is also the full sister of the renowned Zangersheide stallion Dourkhan Hero Z. It has not yet been announced where the mare will continue her career.
