Gilles Thomas has bid farewell to one of his top horses. Lavanoche T&L Z (Lavallino ter Klomp x Alme) will represent the French flag in the future, with Gregory Cottard in the saddle, Gilles Thomas confirms to our editorial team.
Gregory Cottard is the new rider of Gilles Thomas' former trump card, Lavanoche T&L Z (breeder: Guy Vandeven and Stal T&L). ‘I am looking forward to a bright future with this new talent under saddle,’ says the French show jumper.
The daughter of Lavallino Ter Klomp was owned by Robert Geens and Stal Nieuwenhof. Together with Gilles Thomas, the mare jumped at an international level of 1.50m. Their last victory dates back to September this year, when the pair won the 1.50m at the CSIO4* in Avenches. They also won in Vejer de la Frontera, Kronenberg, Lier, Brussels and 's Hertogenbosch!
Lavanoche will be stabled alongside Poppemieke JW van de Moerhoeve and Idylle Chavannaise, among others.
