Major changes have taken place at the helm of the Brazilian Equestrian Confederation (CBH - Confederação Brasileira de Hipismo). President Constantino Scampini has tendered his resignation. He will be succeeded by former Vice President and Jumping Director Daniel Khury. The departure follows a period of heavy management pressure and public criticism, notably involving top rider Yuri Mansur.
Scampini steps down after a turbulent period within the federation. In an official statement, the outgoing president indicated that throughout his tenure, he had always worked toward strengthening the CBH, developing the sport, and safeguarding the institution’s credibility.
Escalating tensions and criticism Pressure on the CBH board had increased significantly in recent months. A key turning point was the recent situation surrounding top rider Yuri Mansur, who decided to step down from the Brazilian national squad. Mansur voiced sharp criticism regarding management and team leadership, sparking heated debate across the Brazilian equestrian community.
Scampini ultimately felt compelled to step aside. According to him, the board's work was systematically questioned by individuals and groups putting "personal agendas and self-interests first."
"I am not resigning because I view these accusations as legitimate," Scampini explained. "I am stepping down because I believe my resignation is currently the only way to restore calm and protect the institution. It is now up to those who criticized so loudly to demonstrate in practice what their plans are and to take responsibility for the future of the sport."
Daniel Khury aims to restore calm and dialogue Following Scampini's exit, Daniel Khury takes immediate charge of the federation. Khury, who previously served as Vice President and head of the jumping discipline within the CBH, looks ahead to his new role with a focus on uniting the sport.
"I assume the leadership of the CBH with a deep sense of responsibility and respect for our sport," stated Khury. "At the beginning of this new phase, I would like to thank Constantino Scampini for his dedication. We are now opening the door to a period of dialogue, unity, and transparency. The CBH exists for the entire community: from riders, breeders, and owners to grooms, veterinarians, and organizers. There is a lot of work ahead, but together we can push Brazilian equestrian sport forward."
With Khury at the helm, the Brazilian federation hopes to bring stability back to the sport and rebuild trust within the equestrian community.
