This weekend, CSI4* level competitions are taking place in Saint-Lô, France. Today's main event was a 1.45m class with a winning round format. This meant that the top twelve combinations from the first round returned for a decisive 'winning round' — a shortened course where the goal was to ride as quickly as possible while collecting as few penalty points as possible. The one who succeeded best was Gregory Wathelet. He rode his newer mount, Betty du Prieure (by Doremi), faultlessly through the course, finishing in 39.78 seconds. He was the only one to stop the clock under 40 seconds.
Pim Mulder came closest with Dunaghmore (by Ustinov). This Dutch combination also completed a faultless round, finishing in 40.55 seconds. Edward Levy rounded out the podium, relying on Lyon van de Plataan (by Kashmir van Schuttershof), a 13-year-old BWP stallion, to jump a clear round in 40.99 seconds.
Thomas Lambert followed in fourth place. He guided Jackpot EB (by Action Breaker) faultlessly through the course, finishing in 41.66 seconds. Fifth place went to Alexis Gourdin, who achieved the final double-clear round with For Millions De Pao, finishing in 42.57 seconds.
