Earlier, it was announced that the Stoeterij van Golf de St. Tropez had been put up for sale. Today, it has been confirmed that Stephan Conter and Eric Berkhof plan to relaunch the competition series in Grimaud in 2026. Last year, the southern French branch of Haras des Grillons was placed under judicial liquidation.
"Together, we want to relaunch the competition series in St. Tropez," Conter stated. "Our goal is to put the sport at the center in St. Tropez. This iconic location will benefit from our commitment and expertise."
The duo is planning to offer several weeks of international show jumping in 2026. "We want to give Grimaud the character of a show where athletes come to perform but also to enjoy the moment!" Preparations and renovations are already underway. "We aim to build two new competition arenas and make the necessary improvements. It will be something beautiful," the Belgian entrepreneur explained.
"The site is currently unusable. We’re going to start clearing it within the next fifteen days." After that, "we’ll present our plans to the municipality of Grimaud and the prefecture of Var."
