The 1.50m Grand Prix qualification class at the Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard delivered high-caliber sport today. Great Britain’s Harry Charles took top honors in the international field, guiding the 11-year-old ISH stallion Bandit (Obos Quality x Cruisings Micky Finn, breeder: Ted McKenna) across the finish line in a winning time of 70.51 seconds.
Having secured a win on Friday with Hotspot (Hors la Loi II x Nabab de Reve, breeder: Fam. Dingen), Dutch rider Mathijs van Asten delivered another stellar performance. Riding the 14-year-old KWPN stallion, Van Asten posted a clean round in 71.37 seconds, finishing just behind Charles to take second place.
Brazil’s Yuri Mansur rounded out the podium aboard the experienced 18-year-old Hanoverian gelding Vitiki (Valentino x For Expo, breeder: ZG Stapel & Wahlers), crossing the timers clear in 71.95 seconds. German stars Philipp Weishaupt with Kilmister (Diarado x Hors la Loi II) and Marcus Ehning with Stargold (Stakkato Gold x Lord Weingard) completed the top five in fourth and fifth, respectively.
