The 1.55m Prix Hermès Sellier was decided after a jump-off featuring ten combinations. Riding the Paul Schockemöhle-bred Casquo Blue (Chacco-Blue), Charles jumped to victory with a time of 37.74 seconds. Earlier in the series Harry Charlos and Casquo Blue already won the CSI4* Grand Prix!
“It feels very good to win here. It’s a new week with the Amir’s Sword, and to get off to a great start by winning this class feels fantastic. My horse is in great shape, and I feel very excited for the weeks to come. Casquo Blue is so experienced, he is 16 now, and he makes my life easier. He is very efficient, and we know each other quite well. We have been together for 15 years.” Charles said after his win
Harry Charles and the 16-year-old son of Chacco-Blue finished just a few hundredths of a second ahead of Emanuele Gaudiano aboard the SF gelding, Esteban de Hus (Cornet Obolensky). These were the only two pairs to manage a double-clear round.
Pieter Devos secured third place with his home-bred BWP gelding, Primo DV (Vigo d'Arsouilles). Devos recorded the fastest time in the jump-off but unfortunately saw one rail fall from the cups.
Just off the podium in fourth place was Edwina Tops-Alexander with the KWPN gelding, Fellow Castelfield (Je t'Aime Flamenco). The top five was rounded out by Khaled Almobty and Qaparezzo-A (Arezzo VDL).
