Jessica Kürten has named the Irish squad that will compete at the FEI World Jumping Championship in Aachen, Germany next month. Earlier this week the Swiss chef d'Equipe announced his team for Aachen and Germany's André Thieme forfaited his spot with DSP Chakaria.
The Irish squad heads to one of the sport’s most prestigious championships boasting proven championship and Olympic experience as well as outstanding recent form, aiming to build on a successful season on the international stage.
The Irish squad competing at the FEI World Jumping Championship, in alphabetical order, is:
- Bertram Allen with Qonquest De Rigo (Fantomas de Muze x Indoctro, breeder: Ulrik Goossens)
- Darragh Kenny with Eddy Blue (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Chacco-Blue, breeder: Paul Shockemöhle)
- Cian O’Connor with Chatolinue PS (Chacco Lover x Stakkatol, breeder: Paul Shockemöhle)
- Shane Sweetnam with James Kann Cruz (ISH) (Kannan x Cruising, breeder: Patrick Connolly)
Denis Lynch, with Vistogrand, has been named as travelling reserve, while Daniel Coyle with Gisbourne VDL, and Jordan Coyle with Chaccolino (in alphabetical order) have been selected as non-travelling reserves.
