The Belgian spirit is alive and well in Sopot—and the results speak for themselves! In the 1.50m CSIO4* Grand Prix, Jeroen Appelen continued Belgium’s winning streak with a victory after an eight-horse jump-off. Earlier in the week, the Belgian show jumping team had already claimed the CSIO4* Nations Cup title.
Following an eight-combination jump-off, Jeroen Appelen clinched the top spot on Polish soil. Riding Gently Z (by Gentleman, bred by Schoof & Vullers), the Belgian rider outpaced the competition, edging out French rider Cyril Bouvard and Gaby de Courcel (by Type Top du Monteil) by just under a second.
Argentina’s Martin Dopazo secured a place on the international podium, finishing third aboard Mr. Quincy B (by Aganix du Seigneur).
That pushed Alexis Goulet and Global de Riverland (by Vagabond de la Pomme) into fourth place. Rounding out the top five was British rider Simon Crippen with the KWPN gelding Handsome (by Toulon). Only these top five combinations managed to produce double-clear rounds!
