The British rider, Jessica Mendoza, took on that challenge like a champion and jumped onto the top spot on the podium. She trusted the thirteen-year-old gelding, I-Cap CL Z (I'm Special de Muze), to partner up with her to snag the golden medal.

Second place ultimately went to Germany thanks to a very fast round of Daniel Deusser and his trusted Bingo Ste Hermelle (Number One d'Iso). With a time that was only 2 hundredths of a second slower than the one of the German pair, Barbara Schnieper (SUI) claimed the third, and last, podium spot together with Escoffier (Lord Z).

Marcus Ehning (GER) stopped the clock in 58.84 seconds, which was good to get him and Baloubets Rose Dree Boeken (Baloubet du Rouet) fourth place. The Italian rider Piergiorgio Bucci conquered the 1.50m course on Pallieter vd N.Ranch (Cornet Obolensky) and came home to take fifth place.
