On November 9th, eighty sport horse owners from all over the world came together during the Fieracavalli fair in Verona, for the first summit of the Jumping Owners Club (JOC). One of the highlights of this meeting was the presentation of research projects that were supported by Scuderia 1918, an initiative of the Italian Emanuele Anchisi that supports various show jumpers at the highest level, in collaboration with the universities of Parma and Turin. This research focuses on sustainability, particularly in the field of the environment, with the conviction that the welfare of humans and animals are inextricably linked.
A recognition for the owners
The president of the JOC, Robin Cleary Parsky, a loyal supporter of, among others, Kent Farrington, emphasized the central role of owners in the sporting career of their protégés. "Owners are the most important support for their horses," she said. "Of course, they always want to give their horses the best chances in terms of sport, health and welfare. Our discussions in Verona have strengthened our desire to involve owners in decision-making about their horses."
