Katharina Rhomberg delivered the performance of a lifetime aboard Colestus Cambridge (Colestus x Cambridge), storming to her first-ever CSI5* Grand Prix victory. In a masterclass of precision and speed, the pair secured a flawless double-clear, crossing the timers in a blistering 36.54 seconds.

«I can't believe it! I just won my first five-star Grand Prix at the Longines Versilia Horse Show, presented by Giorgio Armani, in Versilia," said the 33-year-old Austrian rider, who was awarded by Longines Brand Director Matteo Sovera. - I'm just incredibly happy, my horse jumped amazing. I was last to go in the jump-off. Actually, there were very fast riders in front of me and I thought I can't beat them, but I could and it was just amazing, I'm very, very happy. I'm also very satisfied because I took this victory with Colestus Cambridge. I’ve been riding this horse since he was six years old. We actually grew together».

The jump-off began with Roberto Previtali and Quirinus 27, who set an ambitious pace but suffered a costly mistake that left them with four faults. His compatriot, Emanuele Camilli, followed with a more measured approach on Chacareno PS, securing the first double-clear of the afternoon in 41.80 seconds. The lead was short-lived, however, as Belgium’s Jérôme Guery and Qartouche de la Pomme d'Or found a tighter rhythm, shaving over two seconds off the time to finish in what appeared to be a formidable 39.24 seconds.

The momentum continued to shift when Abdulrahman Alrajhi and Ventago galloped into the arena. The Saudi rider took significant risks to cross the timers in 38.06 seconds, momentarily seizing the top spot. Yet, Rhomberg and Colestus Cambridge proved they had another gear entirely. By finding more efficient lines and maintaining a relentless pace, they sliced more than a full second off Alrajhi’s leading time, setting a benchmark that would ultimately prove unbeatable.

The final challenge came from Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano and Esteban de Hus. While the pair showed incredible foot-speed and recorded a lightning-fast time of 37.34 seconds—fast enough for the runner-up spot—an unlucky rail relegated them to fifth place. With the final poles settled, Katharina Rhomberg was confirmed as the champion, celebrating a landmark career milestone on one of show jumping's most prestigious stages.
