In April 2023, Liverpool SFN (Grand Slam VDL) was purchased by the SFN as a seven-year-old. The bay stallion was bred by Arie van Voskuilen from Lunteren. Today, the sale of the now 10-year-old gelding was announced. This news follows the announcement that Mister SFN is moving to Jur Vrieling’s stable.
Liverpool SFN was bred by Arie van Voskuilen and trained by Niels Jonkers. He later came under the saddle of Lars Kersten, who successfully competed him up to the 1.50m level. Most recently, he was ridden by Jur Vrieling.
Currently, the fund retains only one horse: Mister SFN (Grandorado TN N.O.P. x Haarlem).
The sale is part of the planned liquidation of the fund. SFN II is set to be terminated in 2026, resulting in a gradual reduction of the number of horses in the fund. The SFN management stated that they look back on Liverpool's sporting results with satisfaction and that the proceeds of the sale will benefit the fund's participants, in accordance with AFM (Authority for the Financial Markets) regulations.
