The 1.50m Grand Prix qualification of the Zangersheide International was held as a direct time competition in Opglabbeek. Midway through the event, Lars Kuster managed to improve the time of his compatriot, Lars Kersten. In the end, no one was able to beat Kuster's time. The Dutch rider won the event with his 13-year-old KWPN mare, Heaven Of Romance (breeder: A.G. Schuurman).
Lars Kuster and the 13-year-old KWPN daughter of Andiamo Z finished more than two seconds faster than Lars Kersten, who rode the 12-year-old Barny Blue 3 (Balou du Rouet, breeder: Bogena). In this 1.50m event, which counted for Longines Ranking points, Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking completed the top three with his Chacco-Blue son, Coldplay.
The duo was followed by Angelique Rüsen, who, riding Jardessa (Berlin), finished ahead of Harrie Smolders and the 10-year-old KWPN gelding, Kaspar R (Eldorado vd Zeshoek).
