From a young age, Baloubet de Talma was a striking appearance, though his immense energy was not always easy to channel. "You always wanted to give 150% of what was asked of you," Haras de Talma wrote in an emotional tribute. The road to the top was long and required a great deal of patience from his early riders, Thomas and Mathieu, who will undoubtedly never forget his impetuous early years.

The true turning point in his career came through his sporting partnership with rider Audrey. Their strong characters and mutual sensitivity proved to be a perfect match. Together, they climbed the ranks from the young horse cycles to the 3* Grand Prix level. Later, Baloubet continued his successful rise under Valentin, proving to be highly competitive in the 1.45m and 1.50m Grands Prix.

Shining at the Highest Level with Leprévost

However, the stallion experienced his absolute breakthrough on the world stage alongside Pénélope Leprévost. Together with groom Amélie, they formed an inseparable trio. The connection with Leprévost lifted Baloubet de Talma to a higher level, resulting in beautiful placings in the demanding 5* Grands Prix of Vejer de la Frontera, Lyon, and London, among others.

The love between rider and horse was unconditional. Haras de Talma recalls Leprévost's words after a rare mistake in the ring:

"It doesn't matter, if only you knew how much I love him."

An Immense Emptiness

Baloubet de Talma was surrounded by love until his very last breath. His breeders and riders look back on his career with immense gratitude. "You leave an immense emptiness in the hearts of everyone who crossed your path. Thank you for everything you gave back to us a hundredfold, Baloubet."
