Sweden dominates on home turf. After Petronella Andersson and Henrik von Eckermann had already secured victories in Gothenburg, Swedish rider Linda Heed put the icing on the cake! She claimed victory in the final World Cup event of the Western European League.
Eight combinations qualified for the jump-off in the 1.60m World Cup competition. Four of them managed to complete the round without faults. In front of her home crowd, Linda Heed and Skylander VS (Stolzenberg) delivered the best clear round.
"I have a lot of confidence in my horse, and my horse trusts me 100%. I am a bit of an underdog here, but I owe everything to my horse, who gives me unconditional trust. That allowed me to complete this course successfully," said Linda Heed after the event.
Mario Stevens followed on the podium with his 12-year-old gelding, Starissa FRH (Stakkato Gold). In third place was Maikel van der Vleuten with Beauville Z N.O.P. (Bustique).
"Basel is secured! I am mainly very happy with the form that Beauville is in! It was great for the audience that Linda won here," added Maikel van der Vleuten. "All I can say about Beauville is that he is a top horse. My only job is to make sure he feels his best!"
Just outside the top three, Oda Charlotte Lyngvaer finished fourth riding the 11-year-old Carabella vd Neyen Z (Carrera VDL). With one jumping fault, Henrik von Eckermann completed the top five aboard Toveks Azaria Dinero (Mylord Carthago).
