Today marked the start of the CSI4* competition in Saint-Tropez - Gassin. The opening class was a 1.40m competition ridden according to a two-phase special scale. Gold and Silver were separated by only 2 hundredths of a second.
France's Marie Demonte took home the victory on Give Me One Reason DK (Cera d'Ick) in 35.48 seconds. The silver medal went to Cyranan Z (Cyrano du Ruisseau Z) under the saddle of Frenchman Lucas Fournier. Together they raced to the podium in 35.50 seconds.
Fournier also claimed the bronze, ensuring an all-French podium. He did so by saddling Hockando de Riverland (Sunday de Riverland * Bois Margo) for the class. Britain's Mark Edwards rode Dillinger NE (Diarado) to fourth place, while Alexa Ferrer (FRA) rounded off the top five with Hastoria Bo Regard (Ultrachic du Temple).
