German showjumper Jana Wargers is temporarily hanging up her boots. Together with her partner, Michael Lürwer, Wargers is expecting a child in July of this year.
Since 2021, the German rider has been a key figure at Enda Carroll’s Ashford Farm. In May of last year, she moved back to Germany to establish her own independent stable, maintaining a strong professional partnership with Ashford Farm as a primary client.
During her maternity leave, Brazilian star Marlon Zanotelli will take over the reins of her top mount, Dorette (Dollar du Murier x Fighting Alpha 3).
While her riding boots are temporarily set aside, Wargers won’t be leaving the equestrian world entirely; she plans to shift her focus toward giving clinics and coaching other riders.
