Grégory Bodo designed a challenging 1.55m CSI4* Grand Prix course in Vejer de la Frontera. Only three combinations managed to qualify for the jump-off. In the end, Mathieu Billot secured the win, despite a single rail down.
Mathieu Billot and the nine-year-old SF gelding, Heartlove de Pleville (Carinjo HDC), clinched the CSI4* Grand Prix title. Finishing in 43.46 seconds with four faults, the duo stayed just ahead of Pilar Lucrecia Cordon and the 13-year-old mare, Pica Pica Z (Pilgrim). Third place went to Julio Arias Cueva aboard Filou du Manoir (Salto de L'Isle).
Just off the podium, the top five took on a Belgian flavor. Gilles Thomas and Happy Landais (Andiamo Semilly) kept all the rails in the cups during the initial round. However, with one time penalty, the pair finished just outside the top three. Roy van Beek also struggled with the time allowed. Riding his trusted Cavoiro-H OLD (Casallco), the Belgian rider placed fifth with three time penalties.
