McLain Ward at IJRC meeting: "Bureaucracy is Suffocating Equestrian Sport"

The latest edition of the Paarden Gazet takes a closer look at the International Jumping Riders Club (IJRC) general assembly in Geneva. Led by the reconfirmed president François Mathy Jr., the club issued a stark warning. The criticism of the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) is unprecedentedly sharp: riders feel stifled by an increasing bureaucracy that fails to serve horse welfare, puts the sport under financial pressure, and undermines trust in the athletes. Mathy Jr. warned: “There are more and more rules, and consequently, less and less trust in the riders.”
