CSI5* action kicked off in Doha this Wednesday with a 1.50m feature class. In addition to the top honors, riders in this speed class were competing for valuable Longines Ranking points. Ultimately, it was Nadja Peter Steiner who secured the win aboard Nice Van'T Zorgvliet (breeder: Clarysse Van Coppenolle).
Steiner and her BWP mare, a daughter of Emerald van 't Ruytershof, stopped the clock at a lightning-fast 66.42 seconds. They were closely followed by Kristen Vanderveen, who took second place with Bull Run's Jireh (Uriko) in 66.92 seconds. Marlon Modolo Zanotelli completed the podium in the saddle of Dorette (Dollar Du Murier).
Double Success for Zanotelli
Earlier in the day, Zanotelli had already claimed victory in the 1.40m CSI5* opening class riding the KWPN mare Merciminka (Comme Il Faut).
In the 1.50m main event, the Brazilian rider remained in top form, finishing over four seconds ahead of Ines Joly, who placed fourth with Crack d'Aiguilly Z (Comme Il Faut). The top five was rounded out by Jane Annett and Jywan (Etoulon VDL).
