The Portuguese show jumper, Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida, has a new ace in his stable. "I am hopeful with the arrival of this nine-year-old Chicco!" says Almeida. "We have completed our first rounds together, and I look forward to working toward the highest level!"
From now on, Almeida will be competing with the nine-year-old gelding, Chicco van de Doornhaag Z (Cicero Z van Paemel x Toulon). The owner entrusted the grey to Almeida with a view toward the CSI5* level.
Previously, the Belgian youth rider Anouk Devos was in the saddle. Devos last competed internationally with the gelding during the Christmas Jumping in Mechelen. The pair jumped to sixth place over three days in the Junior classes there.
Devos and Chicco had been a pair since January 2025. The duo progressed to an international 1.40-1.45m level.
