Belgium's Manu Casais and Virginie Thonon are seeing a talented horse leave their stables. Following the recent sale of New Manhattan De Clerfayt, the approved sBs stallion, Clever Hof Ter Bruggen Z, is now also departing for a new owner.
The 5-year-old approved sBs stallion Clever Hof Ter Bruggen Z (Chacco-White x Untouched) has been purchased by the Spanish show jumper Sergio Alvarez Moya. The stallion, from Chacco-White's first crop of offspring, has stood out in recent months due to his consistent performances.
The sale brings mixed feelings for Casais, who originally discovered the stallion together with his partner Abdeslam Bennani Smires.
Manu Casais shared his reaction with our colleague at Jump-Off: "Abdeslam discovered him at the auction and really wanted to buy him. Although our set budget was initially lower, we pushed through at the time and brought him to the stable for a higher amount. It was a substantial sum for a three-year-old, but he quickly proved to possess exceptional quality. I have no doubt we will see him back at the highest level."
