French show jumper, Nicolas Delmotte has announced the sporting retirement of Ilex VP (Diamant de Semilly, breeder: Alex van Pollaert). Delmotte competed with Ilex VP at the highest level.
Delmotte trained Ilex internationally from a young horse up to the CSI5* Grand Prix level. In 2018, the duo represented the French team at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon. Furthermore, the pair helped France win the CSIO5* Longines Nations Cup of St. Gallen in 2018.
A year earlier, the combination won the CSI5* Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard. Ilex VP, now seventeen years old, can enjoy the green pastures at the home of his owner, Beatrice Mertens.
