At the end of the 1.45m main class in Liège, one time after another kept being improved. Eventually, Niklaus Rutschi narrowly beat Jérôme Guery’s time. Rutschi raced to victory with the 11-year-old BWP mare Oxana vd Bisschop (Air Jordan Alpha Z).
Rutschi and the 11-year-old mare, bred by Tom De Craene, finished a few tenths of a second faster than local rider Jérôme Guery and Gigolo' Di Villagana (Ballantine Di Villagana). Denis Lynch and the 10-year-old KWPN mare Katja (Etoulon) completed the top three.
Lynch thus pushed Niels Bruynseels into fourth place. Bruynseels just missed the top three with the 9-year-old Zangersheide mare Devidanga Sw Z (Dominator 2000 Z). As the last to start, Nathan Budd completed the top five. The Belgian finished fault-free with his trusted stallion Touardo Blue Z (Toulon).
