Al Marzooqi triumphed on his home turf with the 11-year-old stallion from Al Shira'aa Stables. Just two-tenths of a second behind, Michael Pender took second place aboard the 9-year-old HHS Cyprus (Cornet Obolensky). The third place went to Joseph Stockdale with the 11-year-old Ebanking (Etoulon).
This result pushed fellow Brit William Funnell into fourth place, riding the 13-year-old AES mare, Billy Picador (Billy Mexico). Fifth place went to Sophie Hinners, riding the 11-year-old Nuraya 3 (Nurjev).
