Today, the second veterinary inspection was held in Basel. In total, 28 horses were approved to start in tomorrow’s final. 29 horses were presented. Both Untouchable 32 and Kim Emmen’s Imagine were referred to the holding box. Emmen’s horse was ultimately not allowed to start tomorrow.
Pieter Devos has decided to withdraw from the final. “I want to save Casual DV for the outdoor season,” Devos told Equnews. “Starting tomorrow wouldn’t make sense. Casual DV is still young, and I want to use her sparingly.”
American rider Alessandra Volpi has also decided to withdraw her horse, Gipsy Love Volpi was in seventh place in the standings. “Gipsy has more than proven herself over the past two days. I’m really happy with how our future looks,” the American rider shared on her social media. “This morning Gipsy felt a bit stiff. I don’t want to take any unnecessary risks, so I’ve decided not to participate tomorrow. My horse’s health is the priority!”
So tomorrow, only 25 combinations will compete instead of 30.
