The Trofeo ARTIEM at the Gijón International Horse Show brought high-speed rounds in the CSI4* 1m45 class. Out of 35 combinations, 21 managed a clear round, making accuracy and pace decisive in the race for the €10,000 prize.
Victory went to Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida of Portugal. He piloted Kentucky RW (Berlin) to a superb clear round in 62.60 seconds. His effort edged out the Spanish challenge, as Juan Riva Gil and Victoria d’Argent (Nabab de Reve) stopped the clock just behind in 62.98 seconds, good enough for second place.
Spain did not leave the podium empty-handed: Jesús Garmendia Echevarria rode Lenfissich (Glenfiddich VDL) to third place in 63.38 seconds, closely followed by compatriot Iván Serrano Sáez with Rain Man (Chacco-Blue) in 64.61 seconds.
Fifth place went to Robin Muhr, representing Israel with Foud’Joie de Stel (Canturo), in 64.73 seconds.
