The first edition of the Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show kicked off today in Hong Kong. The 1.50m CSI5* opening class was a speed competition, and there was no stopping French showjumper Roger-Yves Bost and Embassy du Chateau (Jarnac). Belgium’s Jordy Van Massenhove also finished in the prizes.
The Longines Welcome Stakes was set at a height of 1.50m. Riding the 11-year-old SF gelding Embassy du Chateau (Jarnac), ‘Bosty’ finished nearly two seconds ahead of Zascha Nygaard Lill and the nine-year-old mare Com’On Miss Ogano Sit (Ogano Sitte). German rider Richard Vogel completed the top three, securing his podium spot aboard the 11-year-old Kansall (Kannan).
Just outside the top three, Jordy Van Massenhove claimed fourth place. He achieved this result with his 16-year-old mare Caleya (Calido I). The mare, bred by Sjaak Bindels, was previously ridden by Victoria Gulliksen and Sarah Ver Linde. Representing the home crowd, Hong Kong’s Patrick Lam completed the top five, finishing in fifth place with Dakota (Denver V).
