In Barcelona, the tension was palpable in the 1.60m CSIO5* Grand Prix of the City of Barcelona. The 1.60m CSIO5* Grand Prix was held over two rounds. Eventually, as last at the start, Scott Brash jumped to the win aboard his Championships horse, Hello Folie.
The first round turned out to be a tough challenge, with nine combinations going clear. The top twelve duos eventually qualified for the second round. Alex Matz held the lead for quite some time with Ikigai (Elvis ter Putte).
In the end, Scott Brash was on fire and managed to slip a few tenths of a second under Matz’s time. Brash claimed the Grand Prix victory with his 10-year-old SF mare, Hello Folie (Luidam). Riding the mare bred by C. Gouin, the Brit pushed Alex Matz with Ikigai (Elvis ter Putte, breeder: F.A.M.M. Burgers) into second place.
The Grand Prix podium was completed flawlessly by Piergiorgio Bucci and the 10-year-old KWPN mare, Kiss me Fabulesse (Casago, breeders: W. Van Hoof & Y. Copal).
Just outside the podium was Megane Moissonnier with Crooner Tame (Conrad), finishing fourth. Antoine Ermann rounded out the top five aboard the 10-year-old SF gelding, Floyd des Pres (Vigo Cece).
