It was mentioned in the new EQUTALK podcast, a busy international week with four CSI5* competitions on the calendar! In the 1.50m opening class of Doha, Belgian breeding dominated thanks to the BWP gelding bred by Bernard Mols, Hello Jefferson. Together with Scott Brash, the gelding jumped to victory with a lead of over three seconds!
Scott Brash had already won a CSI5* Grand Prix twice with Hello Jefferson in January; on Wednesday, the world number one started the international week with another win. Together with the 16-year-old son of Cooper van de Heffinck, he stayed ahead of Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann with Iron Dames High Level (Livello, breeder: Jens Hauschildt).
For a long time, Marlon Modolo Zanotelli held the top spot in the rankings. In the saddle of Charly Heart (Cornet Obolensky, breeder: Dag Ove Kingsrod), the Brazilian ultimately finished third.
The duo was followed by Megane Moissonnier who, with Joris de Brabander's bred BWP stallion Qoup de Coeur de Muze (Mosito van het Hellehof), stayed just ahead of Nadja Peter Steiner and her 13-year-old BWP mare, Nice Van 't Zorgvliet (Emerald). Last week, the Swiss rider won the 1.50m class in Qatar with the mare bred by Clarysse van Coppenolle.
