While Wilm Vermeir is restarting his IQ Van het Steentje in competition, former groom Krystal Severin has announced the sporting retirement of Joyride S.
The sixteen-year-old stallion, Joyride S (Toulon x Pachat ii), is retiring from the sport. Together with Wilm Vermeir in the saddle, the son of Toulon secured international victory almost 20 times. Among their wins was the CSIO4* Grand Prix of Warsaw in 2023.
It was his former groom, Krystel Severin, who announced the news on her social media, revealing that the stallion will spend his retirement with her. "My Jo, from the first look, I knew you would be the horse that would change my life. I couldn't have wished for a more beautiful gift than for you to come and spend your retirement with me."
