Following Belgium’s team gold and Gilles Thomas’s individual bronze at the European Championships in A Coruña, Belgian equestrian sport is reaching unprecedented heights. “It felt like a dream come true,” says Stephan Detry, president of the Royal Belgian Equestrian Federation (KBRSF), though he wasn’t entirely surprised. “We came here with the conviction that we could aim for the very top,” he explains. “Our horses are exceptional, and the riders have proven they’re ready for the best.”
