In 2026, the Morocco Royal Tour will celebrate fifteen editions of a sporting and cultural adventure that has become a must-attend event. From October 1 to 18, the best Moroccan and international riders will gather successively in Tetouan, Rabat, and El Jadida for three weeks of competition in the heart of Morocco.

Since its inception, the Morocco Royal Tour has pursued a bold ambition: to firmly establish Morocco on the international equestrian scene, while showcasing the richness of its landscapes, heritage, and hospitality.

For this anniversary, the tour is not content to simply look back on its journey. Its 15th edition will mark a new stage in its development, with an upgrade in the sporting level of all its events and, for the first time, the organization of a CSI5*-W in El Jadida.

“The MRT has evolved over the past 15 years and never ceases to impress us with each edition. Whether in terms of competition or organization, the MRT remains at the forefront. And it is in this same spirit that the El Jadida leg is upgrading to CSI5* and 2* events, once again demonstrating its rise.” Hicham Er Radi, Senior National Champion.

Fifteen editions dedicated to sporting excellence

Over the years, the Morocco Royal Tour has evolved around a format that has become its hallmark: three competitions held in three iconic cities across the Kingdom, each offering a unique atmosphere, setting, and experience.

From the historic city of Tetouan to the Dar Es Salam facilities in Rabat, and on to the El Jadida Horse Show, the circuit takes riders and horses on a sporting journey across Morocco.

Over the course of fifteen editions, the Morocco Royal Tour has seen steady growth. The level of competition has risen, the infrastructure has improved, and the field of competitors has become more international, bringing together riders from numerous countries each year.

Olympic champions, international medalists, leading figures in the world of show jumping, and the finest representatives of Moroccan equestrianism have all played a part in the circuit’s history.

This evolution has also been accompanied by ever-higher standards for athletic quality, horse welfare, and the hospitality provided to riders, teams, and the public.

Victories and memorable moments that have made history

“I’ve been participating in the Morocco Royal Tour for over ten years and have seen it evolve year after year. Today, this tour fully deserves its CSI5 status.” Emanuele Gaudiano, winner of the Tetouan and El Jadida CSI5* in 2023.

Over the course of fifteen editions, the Morocco Royal Tour has been the setting for many memorable sporting moments. Grand Prix competitions held before an enthusiastic crowd, Nations Cups that inspire collective pride, jump-offs won by a matter of hundredths of a second, and Moroccan victories celebrated in a unique atmosphere have all helped shape the circuit’s identity.

The history of the Morocco Royal Tour is inextricably linked to that of Abdelkebir Ouaddar. A leading figure in Moroccan equestrian sports, the Olympic rider has provided the public with many emotional moments and, through his performances, has helped propel Morocco’s rise on the international stage.

Around him, several generations of Moroccan riders have gradually carved out their place at the highest level, pitting their talent against that of some of the most renowned international riders in their discipline.

Each edition has thus written a new chapter in this story: that of a circuit capable of combining the demands of elite-level sport, the passion of its audience, and Morocco’s deep connection to horses

A 15th edition that ushers the circuit into a new era

The 2026 edition will fully showcase how far the Morocco Royal Tour has come since its inception.

In Tetouan and Rabat, the CSI1* events will be upgraded to CSI2*, in addition to the CSIO4*-W events already on the schedule. This upgrade will allow the tour to welcome more riders and offer competitive opportunities tailored to various levels of competition.

In El Jadida, the Morocco Royal Tour will reach a historic milestone with the organization of a CSI5*-W, the highest level of international show jumping competition. A CSI2* event will round out the program.

This development positions the circuit more than ever as a major event on the international calendar and demonstrates its ambition for the coming years.

The Morocco Royal Tour intends to continue its growth by attracting the world’s top riders, fostering the emergence of the new generation of Moroccan riders, and offering the public an ever-more-exciting experience.
