The second day of Jumping Indoor Maastricht delivered a showcase of Dutch power, precision, and consistency across all levels of the CSI4* competition. From the VDL Groep Grand Prix over 1.50m to the Stal Hendrix Prix over 1.45m and the Ricoh Document Center Prix over 1.40m, the Netherlands confirmed its depth of talent. Almost three home victories, each achieved with technical finesse and speed, made the Limburg arena a sea of orange celebration.
Greeve leads Dutch sweep in the VDL Groep Prix (1.50m)
In the main class of today, Michael Greeve (NED) rode Commissar Pezi (Commissario) to a flawless double clear in 34.18 seconds, securing victory in front of a roaring home crowd. His compatriot Leopold van Asten (NED) followed closely with VDL Groep Nino du Roton (Iron Man van de Padenborre) in 34.56 seconds, while Bas Moerings (NED) and Ipsthar (Denzel Vt Meulenhof) completed a fully Dutch podium with 37.16 seconds.
Eckermann holds off Dutch charge in the Stal Hendrix Prix (1.45m)
Germany’s Katrin Eckermann continued her brilliant indoor form, claiming the Stal Hendrix Prix victory aboard Iron Dames Cascajall NRW (Casallco) in 30.99 seconds. Swedish rider Henrik von Eckermann followed with Calizi (Cellestial) in 31.96 seconds, ensuring a Scandinavian-German one-two finish.
The best Dutch performance came from Michael Greeve, who guided A Billion Boy vh Distelhof Z (Aganix du Seigneur) to third in 32.12 seconds, narrowly missing a second win of the weekend.
Smit-Hoekstra and Moerings headline Dutch success in the Ricoh Prix (1.40m)
In the CSI4* Small Tour, it was another home triumph for Marriët Smit-Hoekstra, who piloted Wadro’s Maggie May (VDL Zirocco Blue) to victory in 56.38 seconds. Bas Moering followed in second with Nunblisther (Vigo d'Arsouilles), missing the win by just 0.22 seconds. Qatar’s Bassem Mohammed and Popeye de Tamise (Vigo d'Arsouilles) rounded out the podium with 57.15 seconds.
The Dutch riders continued their remarkable run, filling much of the leaderboard’s upper half. Enrico van Manen, Harrie Smolders, and Maikel van der Vleuten all finished inside the top twelve, while Leopold van Asten and Frank Schuttert added further national depth to the results.
