Niels Van Rossem has said goodbye to his World Championship horse, Speedy van Klapscheut (Chaiton F Z). Just two weeks after the pair claimed the silver medal at the FEI World Championship for Seven-Year-Old Horses, the Van Rossem family announced the news of the sale.
Speedy van Klapscheut brought the 16-year-old Belgian rider not only a World Championship silver medal, but also victory in the national young horse circuit earlier this season. Last year, the son of Chaiton F Z already earned silver at the Belgian Championship for Six-Year-Olds in Gesves.
The gelding will now move to the Netherlands, where he will be competed by an Austrian rider. In a statement, the Van Rossem family shared that the sale was made with mixed emotions, but was necessary to support Niels’s sporting ambitions.
